How long does it take to install Cloaking Film, and do I need to replace my glass?
No glass replacement needed. Cloaking Film is self-adhesive and applies directly onto your existing indoor glass using a high-tack acrylic adhesive, so there is no demolition and your frames stay untouched. At just .007” thick, it adds almost no bulk. One important point: this film is directional and thicker than ordinary window film, so it should always be fitted by an authorised Royal Tint installer who has completed the proper training.

Cloaking Film is made to pair with an LED display placed behind the glass, and the two work together automatically. There are no switches, cables, or power needed on the film itself your existing display does all the work.
Here is how the film and your screen work as a pair:
- Screen off: the film cloaks the glass, so anything behind it stays hidden and the surface simply looks like neutral Clear Grey glass.
- Screen on: the directional light from your LED cuts straight through the film, and the glass becomes a vivid, full display rather than a window with content behind it.
- During the day: with 42% light transmittance, the glass still lets natural light through, so the space never feels closed in.
Because the effect comes from the film and your LED working together, there is nothing extra to power, charge, or connect on the film side.
Is Cloaking Film safe and certified for commercial spaces?
Yes. Cloaking Film carries no electrical current of its own it is a passive film bonded to your glass, so there is no voltage, no wiring inside the film, and nothing to switch on the surface itself. That makes it simple and safe to live with in busy, high-contact environments.
